Daniel O’Connor Architects is driven by the pursuit of excellence. While each project is treated as unique, a core set of principles are applied throughout: research, understanding and familiarization with current design and building practice; close collaboration with the client to establish project goals and objectives, a sensitive design approach; and careful management and planning to ensure projects are accomplished in a timely manner and within budget.
Projects involve the input of numerous parties: the client, the architect, design professionals, construction staff, and local authorities. We understand the importance of our hands-on role in facilitating communication between these parties to ensure projects run as efficiently as possible.
While immersing ourselves in the day-to-day planning and management of projects, we do not lose sight of our established objectives and goals. The end product reflects the vision of our clients and our quest for realizing designs that reflect our passion and integrity.
Interiors
We believe that a successful interior is one that is harmonious and coherent. Elements within a space must combine to create an atmosphere conducive to the people that occupy it. Through innovative design, attention to detail, and effective use of key elements such as lighting, we ensure that these goals are met.
Daniel O’Connor Architects is specialized in the design of a wide range of interiors, including restaurants, stores, and commercial and residential spaces.
Technical Support
Our knowledge of building design and practice on both a national and local level ensures that our clients and other design professionals can rely on the technical support of our studios. Such support includes local building department filing, project consulting, zoning research, site selection and feasibility studies, facility assessment, construction administration, and pre-and post construction services.
We also utilize the latest technology to assist in project planning by offering 3-D representations, animated graphics, color renderings, and model building services to our clients and consulting design professionals.
Daniel O’Connor Architects also offers special technical services to our clients, such as the translation of projects generated from different design practices: European attention to detail and innovation to American efficiency of scheduling, programming and organization.
New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission
Of particular interest to our New York clients, the studio has had a very productive working relationship with the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission over the past 10 years, including research of materials, detailing and rendering, and numerous successful presentations at both landmark meetings and community board public hearings.
